Le KABUKI


KA = chant
BU= danse
KI= habileté

Le KABUKI est une forme de theatre japonais datant du 17 eme siecle et qui a commençé a EDO ,l’ancienne capitale du Japon.( aujourd’hui c’est Tokyo).

A l’origine,c’etait des troupes de femmes qui jouaient.Leurs pieces etaient tres provocatrices et ont fait scandale.Elles ont été interdites.
Par la suite,ce sont des hommes qui les ont remplacées.Progressivement les jeunes acteurs masculins ont ete remplaçés par des hommes d’age mur car il etait scandaleux de faire jouer des jeux de femmes a des hommes jeunes.
Certains acteurs se sont spécialisés dans le jeu de femmes.
Les themes des pieces de theatre sont toujours dramatiques et certains personnages ont des pouvoirs exceptionnels.
Le jeu est tres codifié.On pratique le Mié: le mouvement de l’acteur est arreté pour lui donner une importance.
La gestuelle est lente.les costumes sont impressionnants et les maquillages exagérés.Le texte est prononçé lentement.
ll faut en moyenne 5 heures de préparation a un acteur: maquillage et costume.
On est acteur de Kabuki de pere en fils.

The Japan’s first major exhibition to the West took place in White City, London in 1910. The Japanese garden was created as a part of the exhibtion and today the garden still stands exactly in the same place as 100 years ago. This festival celebrates the centenary of the creation of the garden and the Japan-British Exhibition 1910. Japanese Garden Party (Mini-Matsuri) 12 noon-4pm Stage :Wadaiko/Bon-Odori/Okinawa Eisa/Enka singing/ Marshall Art Demo. Other events : Tea Ceremony/Kamishibai/Garden Tour/Origami and Shodo Workshop/Baskers Stalls :Japanese food/Japanese gifts/Information This event is meant for the family outing to celebrate the long history of Anglo-Japanese relations.

Dans la baie d'Edo (Tokyo) les Japonais stupéfaits voient s'avancer quatre "bateaux noirs qui crachent de la fumée". L'expédition américaine placée sous le commandement du commodore Matthew Perry débarque. Au nom du président des Etats-Unis, Perry demande aux shoguns de la famille Tokugawa l'ouverture des ports japonais aux navires américains et la signature d'un traité d'amitié entre les deux pays. Après négociations, les Japonais ouvriront les ports de Shimoda et Hakodate et offriront ainsi un statut privilégié aux Etats-Unis.
Pour la première fois le Japon s'ouvre au monde occidental.

Nous imaginons des poupées Kokeshi

Au Japon, au début de leur création ces poupées, étaient des jouets pour les enfants des paysans, ou des souvenirs pour les touristes, représentant des petites filles. Ces poupées japonaises traditionnelles, étaient constituées d’une tête et d’un corps cylindrique, symbolisant le vœu et le désir d’avoir un enfant en bonne santé. On compte plus d'une centaine de types de poupées kokeshi. Ces jolies poupées japonaises en bois, sont offertes dans la tradition japonaise, pour déclarer son amitié ou son amour à la personne qui le reçoit.

Distinguished Manga/Anime expert and author of the newly published book Manga Cross Stitch, Helen McCarthy, will present a unique event focusing on cross-stitch designs inspired by Manga and Anime, discussing how the graphic imagery of Manga and Anime can be interpreted in textiles. There will also be the opportunity for participants to create their own cross-stitch pieces with Helen’s guidance.

This event is free to attend but there is a £3 fee to cover the cost of workshop materials, payment is by cash on the day.
